On Saturday, April 27, historian Michael K. Shaffer will discuss his latest book at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. The event, held inside the visitor center, will begin at 2:00 p.m., and is free to the public. Copies of Shaffer’s book, In Memory of Self and Comrades: Thomas W. Colley’s Recollections of Civil War Service in the 1st Virginia Cavalry, can be purchased in the battlefield gift shop. Call 770-427-4686for information.
