Man Arrested For Attempted Armed Robbery Of Kennesaw Gas Station
The gas station clerk was able to thwart the robbery by fighting with the suspect until he ran from the Shell on Jiles Road.

KENNESAW, GA — A man who police believe was involved in two separate armed robberies of gas stations was arrested Tuesday.
Damarius Javon Becoats was charged with armed robbery-felony, battery – misdemeanor, false imprisonment - felony, criminal damage to property – felony.
On Aug. 31, officers were dispatched to the Shell, 4240 Jiles Road, for an armed robbery. The clerk stated he was working behind the counter when a black male came up behind him and put something to his back.

A fight ensued between the clerk and the suspect that continued into the parking lot. The suspect eventually ran from the scene empty-handed.
The clerk described the suspect as a black male, wearing all black clothing, bright red shoes, and a bandanna over his face, which came off during the fight, police said.

After further investigation, the suspect was identified and warrants were taken for Becoats.
Evidence also linked Becoats to an armed robbery that took place on Aug. 5 at the Shell, 3338 Cherokee Street, where the suspect wore all black clothing, bright red shoes and a red bandanna.
Additional warrants were taken, charging him with armed robbery – felony, aggravated assault – felony and theft by taking – felony.
On Tuesday, Sept. 17, Beacoats was taken in to custody without incident with the assistance of the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force and the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.
