Missing Hiker's Remains Found Near Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield

David Blake went missing on March 9, 2018. His remains were found Monday near Kennesaw Mountain.

KENNESAW, GA -- The human remains that were found Monday near Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield have been identified. Officials said the remains are those of David Blake, a hiker who went missing in the area back on March 9, 2018. The remains were found near Stilesboro Road in an area that officials describe as a "a good distance away from one of the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park trails."

Blake's remains were turned over to the Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office. His next of kin have been notified.

Blake disappeared while hiking on Kennesaw Mountain. Police found the 25-year-old's blue Nissan Sentra abandoned with the keys inside. An air and ground search failed to find him until Oct. 22, when a hiker came across his remains after 7 pm.
