New Classical Charter School Now Enrolling

KENNESAW, GA - Northwest Classical Academy (NCA), a state-funded, public charter school, is now open for enrollment for the 2021-22 school year. Recently approved by Georgia’s Department of Education and State Charter Schools Commission, NCA will be located at 3010 Cobb Pkwy NW, between Rutledge Road and Blue Springs Road.

“It is good to bring new investment and new jobs into the community and to see such a wonderful facility serve students and families in the region.”, says board member and Cobb County resident Leo Smith. “The 34-acre property which once housed Kennesaw Charter Science and Math Academy is centrally located and easy to access; Northwest Classical Academy will be another excellent school choice.”

Enrollment is now open for the 2021-22 school year for grades K-6 at https://www.nwclassical.org/enrollment. NCA will add grades each year until it reaches its full K-12 configuration. All Georgia families are eligible to attend; the school is tuition-free and no entrance testing will be required. Seats in the school will be awarded via a lottery in late February 2021.

NCA will offer a rigorous, classical curriculum with a focus on virtue. Its content-rich, liberal arts curriculum includes literature, history, mathematics, sciences, Latin, the arts, character education, and a host of sports, fine arts, and extracurricular activities.

Founder of both NCA and its sister school, top-ranked Atlanta Classical Academy, Matthew Kirby, is eager to open the school’s doors. “We are excited to bring to the northwest metro area a tuition-free, public charter school devoted to forming intelligent virtuous citizens via a classical, liberal arts curriculum,” says Kirby. “Opening our enrollment application is a major step forward, and we encourage families to register right away. We’re looking forward to the first day of school next August.”

The school will host a Preview Day for the community on February 6th. Reservations are required to attend. Additional, virtual information sessions will also be held each week and can be found on the website. The initial enrollment period closes on February 22, 2021.
