Silent Auction Held To Raise Funds For Mostly Mutts
Local artist Leslie Newman adopted a dog from Mostly Mutts and now wants to raise funds for the group by gifting a painting for auction.

KENNESAW, GA -- After adopting a dog from Mostly Mutts, Marietta artist Leslie Newman has gifted a painting to the organization for silent auction. Newman said she believes in the cause and wants to help the organization’s mission to save more homeless pets.
“We love Mr. Finely so much, he has changed our lives in every way,” she said in a release.
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue is holding a month-long silent auction for the painting by Newman. Newman has gifted Mostly Mutts with a 24 x 24 painting for silent auction. The medium is acrylic, painted on gallery wrapped canvas. Starting bid is $200. Newman’s paintings usually sell for between $750 and $2,800. The silent auction will take place on the website and the artwork will be on display at the Mostly Mutts rescue and adoption center, 3238 Cherokee Street in Kennesaw.

“I find pure joy in the process of painting and I hope that you the viewer will find something in my work to take joy from it as well,” she said.

Mostly Mutts strives to reduce the number of animals euthanized at local shelters in Metro Atlanta by working with animal control officers to save adoptable dogs that are moments away from being put to sleep. Often, these dogs are sick, injured and require rehabilitation. Mostly Mutts provides housing, health care, training, and physical and emotional care to these rescued animals until they can be placed in a new “furever home.” Mostly Mutts is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, licensed by the Dept. of Agriculture and staffed by volunteers. It is privately funded through donations and adoption fees.
