Chattahoochee Nature Center Hires New Executive Director
Chris Nelson has been in a similar capacity with the Piedmont Park Conservancy.

After a five-month search, the Chattahoochee Nature Center has hired a new executive director.
Chris Nelson, the Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations of the Piedmont Park Conservancy, Inc., will begin his new duties in January, according to a statement issued by the CNC Thursday.
Nelson succeeds Ann Bergstrom, who resigned in July after serving for 14 years. Lou Tabickman, a CNC trustee, has been serving as acting executive director since then.
“We are thrilled that Chris is joining the Chattahoochee Nature Center. He brings a wealth of operational, managerial and fund raising experience from his role at Atlanta’s premier park," said Maureen Cowie, the president of the CNC board of trustees, in a statement.
"We have achieved so much at the Nature Center over the past few years, including a major capital expansion with the addition of our state-of-the-art discovery center. We are confident that Chris will help us achieve even more and take us to the next level.”
Nelson was with the Piedmont Park Conservancy for 14 years.
