Ga. 400 Hospitality Ride Returns July 8 In North Fulton

The ride will require the closure of the southbound side of Ga. 400 from Holcomb Bridge Road to Northridge Road for 30 minutes.

ROSWELL, GA — The 10th annual GA-400 Hospitality Highway Century Ride will get underway Sunday morning in north Fulton County, and resident should be aware that a portion of the freeway will be closed to motorists.

The southbound side of Ga. 400 will close from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. July 8 from Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell to Northridge Road in Sandy Springs as thousands of riders will take over this segment of the highway.

Organizers have several routes based on the number of miles cyclists are aiming to complete, and you can expect to see cyclists on streets in Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta and Milton, as well as parts of Forsyth and Cherokee counties.

Specifically in Alpharetta, the city is warning residents that a large number of these cyclists will be on the following streets from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.: Haynes Bridge Road, North Point Parkway, Old Milton Parkway, S.R. 9, Webb Bridge Road, Westside Parkway, Charlotte Drive, Mayfield Road, Milton Avenue, Roswell Street and Thompson Street.

In Sandy Springs, you should expect to see cyclists at the Northridge Road exit ramp from Ga. 400, Dunwoody Place, Roberts Drive and Roswell Road going towards the Roswell city limits. In Roswell, keep an eye out for cyclists in areas such as Riverside Drive, Holcomb Bridge Road, Jones Road, Canton Street, Woodstock Street, Webb Street, Mimosa Boulevard, Magnolia Street, Coleman Road, Little Willeo Road, Ga. 120, Azalea Drive, Old Alabama Road and Market Boulevard.

For those who will be in Milton, cyclists will be taking routes that will require them to use streets such as Windward Parkway, Hopewell Road, Bethany Road, Hopewell Road, Charlotte Drive, Birmingham Highway, Arnold Mill Road, Providence Road and Freemanville Road.

Motorists should expect heavy delays during the event and share the road with cyclist. The GA-400 Hospitality Highway Century Ride supports local cycling charities and Junior Flyers, a youth cycling team that fights childhood obesity.
