Hardscrabble, Chaffin Intersection To Close For 2 Weeks
The closure, which will start July 9, will help shorten construction time of the Hardscrabble Green Loop project by four to five months.

ROSWELL, GA — Starting July 9, the city of Roswell will close the intersection of Hardscrabble and Chaffin roads for two weeks to help shorten construction time of the Hardscrabble Green Loop project by four to five months.
During the road closure, the contractor will construct the roundabout at Hardscrabble and Chaffin roads. Through traffic will be required to detour around the Hardscrabble-Chaffin Road intersection during the two-week closure.
Detour routes will include Etris Road, Crabapple Road, State Route 92/W. Crossville Road, and King Road. Local residents will still be allowed access. Drivers will start to see signage alerting them to the impending closure and detours approximately two weeks prior to July 9.

The entire Hardscrabble Green Loop project is slated to be finished in the spring or summer of 2019. The Hardscrabble Green Loop is a “complete street,” featuring intersection improvements, sidewalks, bikes lanes, and a multi-use trail.
Once complete, it will allow bicyclists and pedestrians to use both sides of Hardscrabble Road corridor. This concept is part of a larger bicycle and pedestrian system called the Roswell Loop. The cost of the entire project is $5.8 million and is jointly funded by the city and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
