Holiday Assistance Program Serves More Than 1,800 Children

The North Fulton Community Charities annual program also reached more than 900 families this year.

ROSWELL, GA — North Fulton Community Charities’ annual holiday assistance program served more than 900 families and 1,800 children this year.

That's according to the nonprofit organization, which said its annual campaign kicked off with its Warm Coat Day followed by a Thanksgiving Food Program, a Sponsored Families Program and Santa Shop. Holiday baskets were also provided to local senior residents in November and December. This year more than 150 seniors participated in the basket program.

“The holiday assistance program is so important to the families we serve because it allows them to enjoy the holiday season with their families without the financial burden the holidays often bring,” said Eden Purdy, director of programs at NFCC. “The North Fulton community continues to be so generous in their contributions to help our neighbors in need from toys and food to monetary donations and gift cards, the community really came together to support each other this year.”

Nearly 1,400 people volunteer their time this year for the holiday assistance program. These volunteers did everything from set up and clean up to helping families shop for toys and carry groceries. Many more volunteers organized food and toy drives throughout the area.
