How To Recycle Christmas Trees In Roswell

Here are a few options Roswell residents can use to recycle dry Christmas trees after the holiday.

ROSWELL, GA — As we move away from the Christmas holiday, some residents may be looking to remove their Christmas trees. There are several ways to recycle your trees in Roswell.

Fire officials recommend removing your tree after Christmas or when it is dry. The National Fire Protection Association says dried-out trees present a fire hazard and should not be left in homes or garages or placed against a home.

When you should remove the tree depends on when you got it, what condition it was in, and whether it was properly watered, according to the fire department.

Roswell residents are invited to bring their trees to one of the two Home Depot locations in Roswell from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021:

Remove all ornaments, lights, and tinsel from your tree, and make sure it has not been flocked or sprayed with fake snow made from artificial materials. Pike Nursery uses natural, corn-based flocking, which is acceptable at the event.

Do not drop off trees prior to Jan. 9 or outside the event hours.

Trees will be chipped into mulch and will be available for delivery to the public by Davey Tree.
