Lane Closures Every Weekend In February On Ga. 9
GDOT will perform subsurface utility excavations to collect accurate underground utility information for future construction.
ROSWELL, GA — Contractors working for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will be performing subsurface utility excavations within the travel lanes of Atlanta Street (Ga. 9) from south of Marietta Highway (Ga. 120) to the Chattahoochee River Bridge, and along Riverside Road from Atlanta Street to Riviera Road.
The purpose of subsurface utility excavations is to collect accurate underground utility information to prepare for future construction. This precautionary measure helps to reduce utility relocation costs, construction costs, and construction delays caused by discovering unidentified utility lines.
To reduce the disruption of weekend traffic and reduce the noise impact at night, the lanes will only be closed on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. No weekday or overnight lane closures are anticipated.
