John was a selfless man and always the first to lend an ear or a wrench. His knowledge of race cars and what it took to make anything fast went well beyond his years. John never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be dearly missed. John entered his race on June 6, 1988, and has not taken his final checkered flag, he is just now taking the green, on pole in the car of his dreams.

The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, in the funeral home chapel.
