In Memory: Wyche McCorkle Smith, 65, Man of Faith "Loved All Things Atlanta"

Wyche McCorkle Smith of Roswell was called home on Monday, August 24, 2015. He was born May 30, 1950 in Atlanta. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas M. Smith Jr and Margaret Murrah Smith.

He is survived by his two sons, Matthew Thomas and Daniel Harrison Smith, his brother Thomas M. Smith III and his wife Cynthia, and sister Annette Smith. He has nephews and nieces in Atlanta, New York and South Carolina, who will all greatly miss their Uncle Wyche.

Wyche loved all things Atlanta, including Coca Cola, the Atlanta Braves and The Varsity. He graduated from North Springs High School and the University of Georgia. He was a man of faith and a long-time member of Roswell Presbyterian Church. He was employed by Roswell High School in the special education department and will be greatly missed by teachers, students and parents alike.

His sons Matthew and Daniel, were his greatest accomplishment, and he was devoted to them. Wyche was a patient and gentle father and they will miss him more than words can describe. While he left them far too soon, they will carry the lessons he taught them throughout their lives.

The family will hold visitation at Roswell Funeral Home, Mansell Road, Roswell, Friday from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. His memorial service is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roswell Presbyterian Church in the historic sanctuary.
