Passenger Killed In Roswell Crash Laid To Rest

ROSWELL, GA -- On Thursday, friends and family gathered to say goodbye to the man who died in a single-vehicle crash earlier this week in Roswell. Funeral services for Buddy "Chris" Ramsey, 51, were held Aug. 17 at McDonald & Son Funeral Home in Cumming.

Ramsey, who lived in Cumming, was killed Aug. 14 was a passenger in a pickup truck that collided with a utility pole on Hardscrabble Road between King Road and Highway 92. He was buried at Pine Top Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville.

The driver of the vehicle, whose identity has not been released at this time, was conscious and alert at the scene of the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

According to Ramsey's obituary, he is survived by his wife, Vicky; mother, Paulette Dyer Ramsey; and son, John Ramsey. He was predeceased by his father, Buddy Ramsey, the obituary adds.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Roswell Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Unit.
