Roswell Delays Pine Grove Road Culvert Project

ROSWELL, GA — The city of Roswell has decided to delay a project that would require the closure of a segment of Pine Grove Road.

The culvert and drainage upgrade project, originally set to begin May 24, will now start on or around June 18, the city added. City spokesperson Darnisha Green said the contractor did not have all the materials necessary to begin the project on Thursday, hence the new start date.

Residents should note that while the project will begin on or around June 18, the road closure won't "begin until a few weeks into the project, weather permitting," Green added.

Notice will be provided to adjacent property owners prior to the road closure. Electronic message boards will be posted in the area to inform the traveling public of the closure.

The project may also result in interruption of water service to homes in the immediate vicinity of the project, as contractors remove and install a sanitary sewer line and replace a water main. The contractor will notify affected homeowners in advance and will attempt to schedule any needed disruptions during off-peak times.

The work will be centered on 375 Pine Grove Road and will extend about 150 feet along the street. Roswell notes the project will include removal and replacement of existing infrastructure and minor drainage improvements.
