Roswell High School Announces New Choral Teacher

Dr. Stanton Usher to Join Fine Arts Department

Roswell High School is excited to announce Dr. Stanton Usher as our new chorus teacher.

“Dr. Usher will be a great asset to our Fine Arts program, and we look forward to watching students develop their talents under his leadership,” said Principal Dr. Robert Shaw. “We’re very excited to welcome him to Roswell High School.”

Usher joins RHS from Cobb County Schools, where he has been a chorus teacher since 2018. He also directs Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde. Earlier in his career, Usher has been an Arts Integration Specialist (K-8) in Tucson, AZ, taught chorus, Advanced Placement Music Theory and music in Henry County Schools and has conducted a number of ensembles.

“It is with great anticipation and excitement that I join the learning community at Roswell High School,” said Usher. “I am looking forward to fostering critical and creative thinking, artistic expression and community engagement through innovative arts programming all while making beautiful music. I am looking forward to hard work, fun and making forever memories in the RHS Fine Arts Department.”

Usher was named Teacher of the Year 2010-11 and Outstanding Choral Director of the Year 2011. He has led his students to Region and State Literary Championships and to several first-place and championships in music festivals.

Usher a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Paine College, a Master of Music Education from Georgia State University, a Doctor of Music in Sacred Music from Covington Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Arizona.
