Roswell Police Arrest Man Charged With Murder, Armed Robbery

Roswell Police have arrested a DeKalb County man, 29, for his involvement with the death of a Super Mercado Jalisco employee on Saturday.

ROSWELL, GA — Roswell Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for the death of a local supermarket employee.

Roswell Police Department Special Investigations and Criminal Investigations Division Detectives arrested James English, 29, of DeKalb County on Monday. English is charged with murder and armed robbery.

On Saturday at 12:50 p.m., Roswell officers were dispatched to 10390 Alpharetta Street, the parking lot of Super Mercado Jalisco No. 6, regarding an armed robbery. Officers found a Hispanic man who had been shot and was unconscious. EMS transported the victim to a local area hospital in critical condition.

The victim, who was later identified as Eddy Leonardo, 48, of DeKalb County, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

He was an employee of the Super Mercado Jalisco, and police believe robbery to be the motive.

The Roswell Police Department Criminal Investigations Division was notified and responded to the scene. Detectives said they believe there will be more arrests.
