Roswell Police Arrest Shooting Suspect After Investigation

Roswell Police have arrested a 21-year-old after a shooting on Sunday that they say was an isolated, targeted incident.

ROSWELL, GA — Roswell Police have arrested a 21-year-old after a shooting on Sunday that they say was an isolated, targeted incident.

Tristan McGill, 21, of South Carolina, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and theft by receiving stolen property. The investigation is still ongoing.

At 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, Roswell’s E911 Center received multiple calls from witnesses in the area of 1500 Martin Road who heard gunshots nearby. Officers determined the shooter ran into a nearby apartment complex, and a possible victim left in a car.

Officers set up a perimeter, and were able to find and take him into custody.

Officers found a handgun from McGill which had previously been reported stolen out of South Carolina.

A 22-year-old male victim went to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators determined that McGill and the victim know each other, and believe this to be an isolated, targeted incident. There are no outstanding suspects.
