Roswell Youth Theatre Hosts Auditions March 26 For Musical

ROSWELL, GA -- Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. Shrek leads a cast of fairy tale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek Jr. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

This production will be rehearsed during a 2-week summer performance camp (ages 9-17). There is no registration fee for the audition, which will be held Tuesday, March 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest Street.

Roswell Youth Theatre offers performance opportunities for student actors and is under the direction of Artistic Director Leslie Kelley. To audition, prepare:

• 1 minute Broadway song, memorized. Bring sheet music or accompaniment track.
• 1 minute monologue, memorized.
• Wear comfortable clothes for dance audition. No dance experience required.

If cast, performer will need to register and attend each day of RYT Summer Performance Camp held July 15-26, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The first week of camp will be held at the Physical Activity Center, and the second week at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. Two shows will be held on the last day, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. show time. Camp fees are: $600 Residents, $900 Non-residents.
