Second Murder Suspect Arrested By Roswell Police

A second man has been charged with murder and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery after the death of a supermarket employee.

ROSWELL, GA — Roswell Police have arrested a second man they say is responsible for the death of a local supermarket employee.

On Thursday, Roswell Police Department Special Investigations and Criminal Investigations Division detectives arrested Anthony Boyd, 29, of DeKalb County.

Boyd is charged with murder and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery. Boyd is currently being held at Fulton County Jail.

He was the second arrest in this case after detectives arrested James English, 29, of DeKalb County on Feb. 3. English is charged with murder and armed robbery.

At 12:50 p.m. on Feb. 1, Roswell officers were dispatched to 10390 Alpharetta Street, the parking lot of Super Mercado Jalisco No. 6, regarding an armed robbery. Officers found a Hispanic man who had been shot and was unconscious. EMS transported the victim to a local area hospital in critical condition.

The victim, who was later identified as Eddy Leonardo, 48, of DeKalb County, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

He was an employee of the Super Mercado Jalisco, and police believe robbery to be the motive.

The Roswell Police Department Criminal Investigations Division expects that there will be additional arrests in this case.
