Roommate Arrested In 'Suspicious' Roswell Death Investigation

Roswell Police arrested a 23-year-old for concealing the death of another person in a "suspicious" death investigation near Jasmine Parkway.

ROSWELL, GA — A 23-year-old man was arrested at a motel in Roswell early Wednesday morning for concealing the death of another person, police said.

On Tuesday at 4 p.m., Roswell officers responded to a suspicious death investigation at 2106 Jasmine Parkway, Roswell Police Lt. Noah Caplan said. The resident reported finding blood and other suspicious items in the apartment. Upon arrival, police found a body and deemed the manner in which it was found as a suspicious death, Caplan said.

Malik Anwar Grant, 23, of Roswell, was identified as a suspect and the victim's roommate, and Roswell Police searched for him for concealing the death of another, officials said.

At 1:48 a.m., Caplan said Grant had been arrested at a Roswell motel.

Grant was charged with murder and concealing the death of another, and transported to the Fulton County Jail.

The identity of the victim is pending further investigation and confirmation from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. It is believed the arrestee and victim knew one another, Caplan said.

This investigation is based on a preliminary and ongoing investigation, which continues to evolve as Roswell investigators interview witnesses, review physical and analyze forensic evidence, Caplan said.
