3 Charged With Armed Robbery After Citizens Tackle Suspect: Cops

Three men were charged with armed robbery after they burglarized a Sandy Springs business, one was tackled by citizens and the other fled.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Three men have been charged for armed robbery, Sandy Springs Police said.

On Saturday, officers responded to a robbery at a business on Roswell Road near Abernathy Road. At 4:20 p.m., three men entered the business and attempted to steal items from a display case. As they were attempting to escape, one of the suspects was tackled by two citizens. They were able to hold him until officers arrived at the location.

Sandy Springs Police said the citizens and business requested that their information is not released.

Two other suspects fled in a vehicle. Additional officers located the vehicle and after a brief pursuit, two additional suspects were taken into custody on Glenridge Drive near I-285.

The fourth suspect who was the driver of the vehicle fled the location. Detectives are working to identify that suspect at this time.

The three suspects in custody have been identified as:

  • Antonio Collier, 40, from Atlanta
  • Antwan Dekarlos Robinson, 17, Atlanta
  • A 16-year-old juvenile male from East Point

All three have been charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, felony criminal damage to property, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, two counts of battery and obstruction.
