Arrest Made In Homicide Of 73-Year-Old Sandy Springs Woman
The Sandy Springs Police Department has arrested a woman who they say was involved in the death of her 73-year-old landlord.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Police Department has arrested a woman who they say was involved in the death of her 73-year-old landlord.
On April 5, Sandy Springs police officers were dispatched to a home on Fawndale Way after receiving a 911 call for an unknown disturbance. When officers arrived, they found a woman in the garage holding an object and challenging officers. After a brief struggle with officers, she was subdued and taken into custody.
As officers went into the home to investigate further, they located the lifeless body of the victim inside a room with visible injuries. Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The victim has been identified as Marlene Diane Colon, 73, the homeowner. The suspect has been identified as Chelci Chisholm, 59.
Chisholm was charged with malice murder, aggravated assault and obstruction.

Police said in a news release that the suspect rented a room in the victim’s home.
An autopsy will be performed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death.
Chisholm was booked into the Fulton County Jail, and is awaiting prosecution.
