Berkovitz not Pursuing Recount in District 6 Election
On Election Day, District 6 voters at the Church of Atonement precinct, in Sandy Springs, were given District 5 ballots.

Patty Berkovitz will continue to work with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office to investigate problems at the Church of Atonement precinct on Election Day, but she will not push for a recount, she said.
“I think that is best for the citizens,” Berkovitz said. “The citizens are well-educated and informed, and can make their own decisions.”
A District 6 run-off election between Andy Bauman and John Stoj will be held on Dec. 3. Berkovitz does not intend to endorse either candidate.

On Election Day District 6 voters at the Church of Atonement precinct were given District 5 ballots, and discovered that they could either vote for a District 5 candidate or not vote at all. The problem was cleared up later in the afternoon, according to Fulton County Elections Chief Dwight Brower.
There was less than a 55 vote difference between Stoj and Berkovitz.

Berkovitz told Patch that she has not received concrete answers about the vote count. “There’s no way to tell if the voters were there or not. It’s almost irrelevant. It’s not worth it to put he voters through it at this point. It’s more productive to make sure [the problem] doesn’t happened again,” she added.
The longtime Sandy Springs resident didn’t rule out running for City Council again in the future. “I’m just moving forward. I’m leaving all options open,” she said.
