Braves Outfielder Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges: Police
Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested on Saturday by Sandy Springs Police on domestic violence charges.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested on Saturday by Sandy Springs Police on domestic violence charges.
Ozuna, 30, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation, and battery, both under the Domestic Violence Act.
Shortly after noon on Saturday, Sandy Springs Police went to a home on Windsor Cove regarding an assault in progress. As officers arrived to the home, they heard screaming inside and saw the front door was open, police said in a news release.

Officers went inside and saw Ozuna "grabbing the victim by the neck and throwing her against a wall," the release said. Officers were able to take Ozuna into custody.
In addition to the strangulation attempts, Ozuna also struck the victim with his arm, which has a cast from a previous injury, police said.

A preliminary investigation deemed the incident as domestic related between Ozuna and his wife, Genesis, both residents of the Windsor Cove home, the report said.
Genesis had visible injuries, but was not taken to the hospital.
Ozuna was booked into the Fulton County Jail, and released on Monday after posting his $20,000 bond, ESPN reported.
The couple was in the process of divorcing, attorney said on Monday at the Fulton County Magistrate Court. Genesis had previously been arrested last year in Miami on a domestic violence charge, ESPN said.
Major League Baseball is considering a suspension against Ozuna due to the joint domestic violence policy between MLB and the players' union, ESPN said.
