Children's Wish Foundation Makes List of 'America's Worst Charities'

Children's Wish Foundation International in Sandy Springs has made the list of "America's Worst Charities." The study is a collaboration between the Tampa Bay Times and Center for Investigative Reporting.

The foundation, headquartered at 8615 Roswell Rd., came in at No. 3 of 50.

The ranking was "based on cash paid to solicitors in the past decade," TampaBay.com says. The total raised by solicitors was $96.8 million; $63.6 million was paid to solicitors; 10.8 percent was spent on direct cash aid, according to information on the list.

The report includes a page on fundraising and spending history, and known state disciplinary actions.
