When speaking about his record as "the winningest coach in the Southeastern Conference (SEC)," he is quick to quip that he also holds the record for the most losses.
Indeed, Coach Polk's accomplishments are staggering. He is one of only three coaches in the history of the College World Series to lead three different teams to the championships in Omaha: Georgia Southern, Mississippi State and the University of Georgia. During his head coaching days, his teams appeared in eight College World Series, won five SEC championships, and made 23 regional appearances.
Among his many accolades, Coach Polk is a member of the College Baseball Hall of Fame, the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the National College Baseball Hall of Fame, as well as several collegiate halls of fame.
Coach Polk may be most famous as the author of "The Baseball Playbook," which is considered a fundamental textbook to college coaches and players across the nation. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event for $20. Coach Polk will also be available to autograph books and baseballs during the event.
Raider Baseball will also have information available about the new Raider Park that will open in the spring and sponsorship opportunities for 2017.
