Departure replicates the look, sound and feel of the original 80s rock super-group, Journey. The five band members are the original line up and have developed an amazing on-stage chemistry. Featured lead vocalist, Brian Williams, has an amazing singing voice flawlessly matching Steve Perry’s vocal range and movements, exactly. This band was voted “Best Local Entertainer” for 2011 and 2012 by Gwinnett Magazine.

“We are ready to show up on July 14 at Heritage Sandy Springs and give a family-friendly, high energy show for the audience. From 'Don’t Stop Believin’,' to 'Faithfully,' 'Separate Ways,' and 'Anyway You Want It,' the hits from Journey are countless, and take the audience on a journey through the heart. We love to give the audience all of the Journey hits. We hope to have a huge crowd at the concert and that Journey fans of all ages are ready to dance and sing along.”
Singing the National Anthem for the July 14 concert will be Jon Mero, a 2017 top 12 finalist from "The Voice."
By the age of 12, Mero was already considered a child prodigy at the piano and trumpet. From there, the love for music continued to grow. Mero moved from Des Moines, IA to Atlanta in June 2011. In November 2012, he joined the Celebrity Allstar Band (CAB), an Atlanta-based corporate band owned by Richard Smith.
As the present lead male vocalist, Mero has continued to hone his craft as an entertainer and stage performer, attracting opportunities with CAB to play with Mickey Thomas from Starship, as well as sing background for CeeLo Green in July 2016. Mero made it to the Top 12 on Season 13 of the NBC hit TV Show “The Voice” in 2017. He is currently recording his Debut EP in Nashville, and it will be out soon.
