Elizabeth Shea Madrid, 14, Active in Girl Scouts, Junior Rowing
Funeral services for the Riverwood International Charter School student and the Sandy Springs resident were held on Saturday in Atlanta.

Elizabeth Shea Madrid, 14, of Sandy Springs died Oct. 20, 2015. Elizabeth was a student at Riverwood High School where she took AP honor classes and played the trumpet in the band.

She was active in Girl Scouting and recently received the Silver Award. Elizabeth also participated in Atlanta Junior Rowing and loved animals, art, music and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Maureen Shea Madrid; uncle, John Chisolm; and aunt, Patricia Shea.

Survivors include her parents, Scott and Frances Madrid; brother, Mac Madrid; maternal grandparents, Doc and Betty McKay; paternal grandfather, Walt Madrid (Ann); aunts, Kelly Madrid, Monica Henderson (David), Dana Chisolm; uncles, Jim McKay (Joelynn), Ryan Shea (Lisa), Tom Shea (Katrina), Roger Shea (Kathleen), Doug McKay (Cookie), Joe Chisolm (Marsha); and great great aunt, Jean Chisolm.
A memorial service will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at North Avenue Presbyterian Church, 607 Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA 30308. A reception will follow the memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Atlanta Humane Society.
