Former Sandy Springs Fire Inspector Passes Away

Brian Stute worked in the Fire Marshal's Office from November 2015 to February 2018, the fire department said.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Fire-Rescue Department is mourning the loss of one of its former employees. Brian Stute, who served as fire inspector for the agency, died Thursday, March 29.

The fire department confirmed the news on its Facebook page, adding that Stute worked in the Fire Marshal's Office from November 2015 to February of this year. Before that, he was an EMT with RMA/AMR on an ambulance based in Sandy Springs.

"He was liked and appreciated by all who worked with him," the agency said. "Our sincere condolences to his wife Susan and other family members."

According to an obituary posted by Darby Funeral Home, the funeral service for the Canton resident will be held at noon Thursday, April 5. Visitation is planned for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 4 and 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday.

Stute is survived by wife, Susan; parents, Rolf and Monika Stute of Marietta; son, Thomas Currie Jr. and daughters, Savannah Currie and and Susannah Currie, all of Canton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
