Free Document Shredding Comes To Sandy Springs

Sandy Springs residents will soon be able to safely destroy sensitive documents tucked away in drawers and bins throughout their homes.

Keep North Fulton Beautiful will host a free document shredding service from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Sandy Springs Recycling Center.

To avoid identity theft, the Federal Trade Commission recommends shredding charge receipts, copies of credit applications, insurance forms, physician statements, checks and bank statements, expired charge cards and credit offers. Documents at the event will be shred on-site, and all of the paper will be recycled.

There is no charge for this event, but donations are welcomed and benefit the nonprofit organization. The Recycling Center is located at 470 Morgan Falls Road in Sandy Springs.
