Fundraiser Helps Family Of Motorcyclist Killed In Crash

Cameron Densler, 24, died March 31 in a two-vehicle crash on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.

MARIETTA, GA — A fundraiser has been established to help the family of a Marietta man who died over the weekend in a fatal motorcycle accident in Sandy Springs. The YouCaring page for Cameron Densler is up and running, and the family is seeking donations in lieu of flowers in memory of the Cobb County resident's life.

As of Wednesday, the campaign has raised $930, with the hopes of reaching $2,000 for the family. Densler, 24, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday on Roswell Road near Abernathy Road, Sandy Springs police previously told Patch.

Officers and Sandy Springs Fire-Rescue personnel were dispatched around 4 p.m. March 31 to the crash on the southbound side of Roswell Road south of Abernathy Road. A preliminary investigation shows a motorcycle was traveling southbound when a vehicle "entered the road, failing to yield to the motorcycle and they collided," said police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham.

Densler was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, Martin Miller, is charged with failure to yield right of way when entering a roadway and vehicular homicide in the second degree, Sgt. Worsham said.

"To say Cameron had a big heart is an understatement," according to the YouCaring page. "This was a young man whose gentle soul left an impression on everyone he met. His world revolved around his family, and trying his best to enjoy life while also bringing joy to others' lives. Needless to say, this caring, kind soul left this world much, much too soon."

The page adds donations are being accepted, as "our family would like to use the money to help other families who experience a similar tragic event." According to Densler's Facebook profile, he graduated from Marietta High School, studied at Chattahoochee Technical College and was employed as a relief assistant manager with QuikTrip.

A Facebook friend of Densler said a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Densler is survived by his parents, older brother, nephew and other friends and family.
