GDOT To Close Abernathy Road, GA-400 Entrance Ramp (UPDATED)
The closures will be in effect Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6-7 and Oct. 13-14.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Georgia Department of Transportation will close a segment of Abernathy Road and the Ga. 400 northbound entrance ramp from the road for the next two weekends in Sandy Springs, the agency said.
Abernathy Road will be closed from Glenlake Parkway/Mercedes-Benz Drive to Ga. 400, GDOT said. Crews will also close a segment of Glenlake Parkway and the Ga. 400 northbound entrance ramp from the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs/Abernathy Road interchange from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 7, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation
Georgia DOT contractors will implement these road closures once again from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 14. If you must use this area to get around the city, be sure to take the following detour routes:

GA-400 northbound to Abernathy Road: Motorists traveling on GA-400 northbound should exit at the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs interchange, turn right on to Peachtree Dunwoody Road and make another right on Mt Vernon Highway. Motorist should continue on Mount Vernon Highway and turn right on to Glenridge Drive. Once on Glernidge, motorists can then turn left on to Abernathy Road and continue on Abernathy Road. Motorists needing to access Glenlake Parkway will continue on Glenridge Drive towards Glenlake Parkway.
GA-400 southbound to Abernathy Road: Motorists traveling on GA-400 southbound should exit at the Dunwoody-Sandy Springs interchange, turn left on to Abernathy Road, turn right on to Peachtree Dunwoody Road and turn right on to Mt Vernon Highway. Motorists should continue on Mount Vernon Highway and turn right on to Glenridge Drive. Once there, motorists can turn left on Abernathy Road and continue on Abernathy Road. Motorists needing to access Glenlake Parkway will continue on Glenridge Drive to reach Glenlake Parkway.
