Granite Blasting Starts May 24 On I-285
Blasting will take place for about six months on the westbound side from Ashford Dunwoody Road to the Perimeter Center Parkway overpass.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Georgia Department of Transportation will begin granite blasting this week along Interstate 285 for the Transform 285/400 interchange rebuilding project. Blasting will begin on Thursday, May 24 on I-285 westbound from Ashford Dunwoody Road to the Perimeter Center Parkway overpass.
The operation will occur Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. for about six months, and GDOT construction partners will pace traffic on I-285 eastbound and westbound and along Perimeter Center Parkway for the operation.
I-285 eastbound traffic pacing will occur from Roswell Road to Perimeter Center Parkway while traffic pacing on I-285 westbound will be in effect from Chamblee Dunwoody Road to west of Perimeter Center Parkway.

Traffic on Perimeter Center Parkway between Lake Hearn Drive and Hammond Drive will be stopped before and during the blasting operation. MARTA will provide a flagging operator during the blasting operation to coordinate train operations.
