Heritage Sandy Springs Event Introduces Babies To Music

Swell Music By The Springs kicks off Wednesday, May 30 and will allow kids 4 and under to take part in a sing-a-long.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Heritage Sandy Springs is joining forces with a local gift shop to introduce music and movement to babies and toddlers. Swell Music By The Springs will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. May 30, June 13, and June 27 at Heritage Green.

Miss Sarah of Sing Along With Sarah will lead a fun and engaging session for kids 4 and under at Heritage Green in the heart of the city. Of course, siblings are welcome too. For extended community time, families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park after the program. Swell Music By The Springs is part of Heritage Sandy Springs' educational programs for adults and children. These programs are designed to promote the history and enhance the city's cultural identity.

WORLD WAR I LECTURE SERIES: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 30, June 27, July 25, Aug. 29

Join Heritage Sandy Springs for a summer lecture series commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War. Topics include why the war happened, the U.S. entry into the war, science and technology, and the local Emory Medical Unit’s involvement. The featured speakers are Dr. Martin Moran, Dr. Eric Schatzburg, William Fisher, and Render Davis. This series will take place on the last Wednesday of the month, May through August, in the Community Room at the Heritage Sandy Springs administrative building at 6110 Blue Stone Road. Details here.

TITLES @ TWILIGHT: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 6, July 11, Aug. 1, Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 7, Dec. 5

Titles @ Twilight promotes local authors, whose stories of history and the South represent a variety of perspectives. This monthly program is free to attend and takes place in the Community Room at the Heritage Sandy Springs administrative building at 6110 Blue Stone Road. Upcoming authors include Jedwin Smith, Lauretta Hannon, Jessica Handler, Anthony Grooms, Susan Sands, Erica Danlychak, and Mike Castronis. Details here.

LITTLE DIGGERS: 10 a.m. to noon May 19, June 9, July 21, Aug. 11, Sept. 8, Oct. 13

Little Diggers is a free family gardening series about the fascinating world of horticulture and gardening, presented by Heritage Sandy Springs in partnership with the North Fulton Master Gardeners and in cooperation with UGA Extension in Fulton County. Little Diggers is presented monthly on Saturday mornings at the Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market at City Springs. Monthly activities include planting vegetables in a container, exploring fragrant herbs, growing a “hairy” caterpillar, creating a moss terrarium, growing a salad, and making a bird feeder.
