Heritage Sandy Springs Presents American Girl Summer Camp

The week-long camp offers participants ages 5-10 an immersive, interactive, and fun way to learn about American history.

From Heritage Sandy Springs: Heritage Sandy Springs is excited to announce its second annual American Girl® Summer Camp. The week-long camp offers participants ages 5-10 an immersive, interactive, and fun way to learn about American history. Each day will highlight a different American Girl® and feature activities related to the time period in which she lived. The camp will be held June 5-9, June 12-16, July 10-14, and July 17-21 at the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle. Deadline for registration is May 26, 2017.

First Session

  • Monday, June 5th – Friday, June 9th 9:30am – 3:30 pm Full Day, $250 (lunch $25, additional)

On Mondays, join Rebecca on the Broadway stage. Growing up as a Russian immigrant to New York in the 1910s, Rebecca’s true talent is bringing happiness to people’s lives.

On Tuesdays, experience life through Kit’s eyes as a budding journalist and sports fan. Kit faces hard times during the Great Depression in Cincinnati, Ohio, as her family struggles to adjust to the realities of their new life.

On Wednesdays, explore 50s-era arts and culture, and dance the day away! Growing up in Florida, Maryellen struggles to stand out from her big family, but her energy and drawing ability make her special.

On Thursdays, learn about Atlanta’s own civil rights movement, and the changes Melody witnessed on the national stage. Melody is a civil rights activist living in Detroit during the 1960s.

On Fridays go green with Julie as she celebrates Earth Day, and makes the world a better place. Julie moves to a new town, but nothing will stop this outgoing American Girl of the 1970s from playing sports and being herself.
