Heritage Sandy Springs Rolls Out American Girl Summer Camp

The organization's week-long camp offers participants an immersive, interactive and fun way to learn about American history.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Heritage Sandy Springs is introducing its first-ever American Girl® Summer Camp.

The week-long camp offers participants ages 5-10 an immersive, interactive, and fun way to learn about American history.

Each day will highlight a different American Girl®, and feature activities related to the time period in which she lived.

The camp will be held June 6-10, June 13-17 and July 11-15 at the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, which is located at 6075 Sandy Springs Circle.

The deadline to register is June 3.

First Session

  • June 6-10, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Half Day): $110 (lunch included)
  • June 6-10, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Full Day): $160 (lunch included)

Second Session

  • June 13-17, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Half Day): $110 (lunch included)
  • June 13-17, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Full Day): $160 (lunch included)

Third Session

  • July 11-15, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Half Day): $110 (lunch included)

Mondays are tea parties with Samantha. Dive into Victorian history in a fun and interactive way! In addition to learning about etiquette, food, and Victorian traditions, campers will explore the fashion of the era.

On Tuesdays, hang out on the ranchero with Josefina. Celebrate Mexican-American culture with Dia de los Muertos, learn about Southwestern history in the 1800s, and ‘Remember the Alamo!’

Westward expansion just got more interesting, on Wednesdays! Campers will learn about pioneers like Kirsten and the history of the Oregon Trail. Explore the obstacles that women on the frontier faced in the mid-1800s through an immersive experience.

On Thursdays, investigate the 1930s as we solve the Mystery at Heritage Green! Learn what it takes to be an inquisitive journalist by finding clues and drawing conclusions. Once the mystery is solved, learn how the story went to press. Experiment with printing images and words of our own just like Kit!

Dress to plant flowers on Fridays, play Colonial games, and meet some of Felicity’s animal friends! Then write a letter to your family or friends and share your adventures at American Girl® Summer Camp on homemade paper using quill pens.

Heritage Sandy Springs is partnering with the Westin Hotel Perimeter North during summer camp. If you have friends from out of town, who would love to participate in the American Girl®Summer Camp, or you would like to stay at the Westin during the second and third sessions - call us for more information about discounted rates and special packages.
