Jay Jackson, 52, Prosecuted Crimes Against Women, Children

Jackson, a Sandy Springs resident, was the deputy chief assistant district attorney in Clayton County.

Jay Marvin Jackson, 52, of Sandy Springs, GA died September 7, 2018. He served as the deputy chief assistant district attorney of Clayton County in charge of prosecuting Crimes Against Women and Children.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and was an ardent fan of his alma mater and then he continued his education and received his law degree from Georgia State University. He enjoyed writing mysteries based of his law experiences and was the author of two books.

He was the devoted husband of Lorianna Ayson-Jackson and a loving stepfather to Sullivan Biscan and Piper Biscan of Sandy Springs. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Bridges Jackson, and is survived by his father, Marvin Treadwell Jackson. He was also the devoted brother of Sherry Leigh Jackson of Atlanta and Karen Jackson Whaley (Kelly) of Dalton and Michael Andrew Jackson (Becky) of Atlanta.

He was the beloved uncle of Ansley Jackson, Reilly Jackson, Abby Jackson, Andrew Whaley and Allison Whaley.

Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, 86 Mt. Vernon Hwy. NE, Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church.

A burial service will be held in the Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gratis at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. As an alternative to flowers, please consider contributions to Gigi's House.
