Local Couple Opens Premiere Fitness Concept in Sandy Springs
D1 Training, A State-of-the-Art Athletic-Based Training Facility, Announces Newest Location in Sandy Springs

D1 Training, a leading fitness concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, announced it’s opening a Sandy Springs location. The group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals. The highly-anticipated training center will be located at 6335H Roswell Road with an opening slated for Saturday, June 19.
In celebration of the new location’s launch, Sandy Springs neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility’s team at its grand opening event on June 26. D1 Training will feature access to the training facility to see workouts in person, take a tour, engage in a meet-and-greet with the staff, complimentary food and refreshments and giveaways. The new D1 Training will also offer Founder’s Rate Membership pricing for the duration of the day.

Pat and Sheila Cornelius will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees and owners, some of which include professional athletes such as Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, Tim Tebow and Michael Oher. Plus, with more than 30 years of experience working with Atlanta area schools, Pat is ingratiated in community development and poised for success as a local business owner. The new training facility will be operated by general manager Nathan Boyd. After gaining several years of managerial experience working with multiple well-known fitness concepts, Nathan provides the perfect fit for D1 Training Sandy Springs.
In addition to specializing in both personal and team training, D1 Training of Sandy Springs offers four age-based programs that are vetted by top Division 1 strength and conditioning coaches in the NCAA. The programs are Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and Adult programs. Each fitness program is based on D1’s 5-Star Training philosophy incorporating: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength, core and conditioning, and cool down. Plus, every workout is expertly-designed by D1’s National Training Panel, led by a certified trainer, and built around the concept of periodization which builds week-upon-week to create a well-rounded program targeted to reach specific goals. Some additional benefits of D1’s 5-Star Training include utilization of the latest science in training and physiology, 1on1 goal setting and tracking of results, adaptable and personalized workouts, and more.
