Movies By Moonlight Returns Friday In Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Organizers behind the annual Movies By Moonlight series are putting the final touches on its 2017 event, which begins Friday, Aug. 18 in Sandy Springs.

Leadership Sandy Springs' annual family friendly summer gathering is a free, outdoor movie event for the entire community, featuring a large screen, vendors, food trucks, inflatable bounce houses and other activities for children.

Movies By Moonlight will be held on three Fridays in August and September from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church's Activity Center lawn, which is across the street from the church (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Kicking off the series will be "Moana" on Aug. 18. That showing will be followed by "Lego Batman" on Aug. 25, and "Beauty and the Beast" will round out the 2017 lineup on Sept. 8. Movies will begin around dusk.

A total of four food trucks will be on hand throughout the 2017 series (at least three will be present at each installment): Chick-fil-A Sandy Springs, Dogs On Wheels, ANGELFIRE7 BBQ, Yumbii and, of course, LSS' concession stand with popcorn, sweets and snow cones.

Residents are more than welcome to bring blankets, beach chairs and your group of family and friends to take part in this community event. Please note that pets are not allowed at Movies By Moonlight.
