Movies By Moonlight Returns Friday With 'Captain Marvel'

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Grab your lawn chairs and costumes this Friday night for Movies by Moonlight (MBM) and "Captain Marvel," the free, fun, outdoor movie event sponsored by Leadership Sandy Springs, now in its 15th season.

MBM is often called “the best block party in town” because its movie, shown on a 30-foot inflatable screen on the lawn at City Springs, is always preceded by a bevy of food trucks, fun activities and live entertainment.

Friday night’s on-stage entertainment includes the Spring Street Band, the staff band of Sandy Springs Music and performers from the North Georgia School of Ballet. Costumed characters from Cosplay of America will be available for fun photos and children and adults in costume can join them in a costume parade.

Movie goers may bring picnics, lawn chairs, blankets and towels for the children’s splash pad. The fun begins at 6 p.m. and the movie at dusk. Free garage parking is available and in lots and spaces around City Springs located at 1 Galambos Way (corner of Roswell Rd. and Mt Vernon), with additional parking at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church Activity Center.

While setting up for "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" on Aug. 23, Leadership Sandy Springs had to cancel when thunder and rainstorms threatened. LSS has announced they will now show "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" on Friday, Oct. 18, which will be their final MBM event of the year.
