North Springs Girls Track Team Wins State Championship

2016 was the second consecutive year the team took home the gold.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- For the second consecutive year, North Springs Charter High School’s girls track team took home the gold, winning state in the Region 7AAAAA championship.

While the nationally ranked 4x4 relay team of Kennedy Crawford, Kennedi Weston-Shields, Tyra Williams and Jayda Kennedy took first, it was a true team effort. The team was honored in May with a celebration on the school’s athletic field before finals week began.

The team is coached by Olympic gold medalist Antonio McKay and Physical Education department chair and long time girls' track coach Patty Carroll.
