North Springs High Announces 2021 STAR Student, Teacher
North Springs High School has named Madeline Lampert as its STAR student, and named Gwen Kaminsky as the STAR teacher.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — North Springs High School has named Madeline Lampert as its STAR student, and named Gwen Kaminsky as the STAR teacher.
The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia's outstanding high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development.
The chosen students have met the requirement and scored the highest in representing their graduating class. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on one test date on the three-part SAT taken through the November test date of their senior year and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. Nominees' SAT scores must be equal to or higher than the latest available national average on the math, critical reading and writing sections. Madeline scored a 1530 on her SAT, has a 4.0 GPA and is the school's No. 3 top 10 Student.

Each high school STAR Student is asked to name his/her STAR Teacher. Madeline chose Gwen Kaminsky.
The State PAGE STAR Banquet, held in Atlanta each year, is attended by dozens of STAR Students, their families, education, civic and business leaders and many Georgia educators. Georgia's STAR Students and their STAR Teachers are invited to attend the state banquet as guests of their local sponsors or schools. At the state banquet, the region winners and all local winners attending are recognized. Region winners are interviewed, and the runner-up and State PAGE STAR Student and STAR Teacher are announced.
