North Springs Hosting Outdoor BBQ to Kick off 50th Homecoming Celebration

The Sandy Springs high school has a parade planned for the following day.

North Springs Charter High School alumni and friends are hosting a pre-game BBQ and buffet dinner on Friday, Oct. 25 to kick off their "Blast from the Past' 50th anniversary homecoming weekend celebration.

Dinner will be served outside from 5-7 p.m. near the front entrance of the school. Live music provided by the band Anonymous, whose members include three North Springs students.  

The cost of the dinner is $8 per person for prepaid online reservations and $10 per person at the event.  Reservations can be made directly through the Friends of North Springs Foundation at http://www.friendsofnorthsprings.com/index.html

Student ambassadors will lead tours for alumni at 5:30 p.m., At 6:45 p.m.senior band members, cheerleaders and football players will be recognized.  

The Spartan JROTC battalion will have a U.S. Army Humvee equipped with interactive video games for students to play.

Before the Spartans take the field against Cambridge High School at 7:30 p.m., alumni, friends and current Spartans will be welcomed by North Springs’ principal Dr. Eddie Ruiz. Both the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced and crowned during halftime, with other special surprises planned before and after the game.

The entire Sandy Springs community is invited to participate in or attend North Springs 50th Anniversary Parade on Saturday, Oct. 26. The parade procession starts at Woodland Elementary at 9:30 a.m.
