North Springs Track Team Wins First Place at Region Meet
The Spartans will compete this weekend at Sectionals, and hope to defend their 2015 title during the finals set for May 6-7.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- North Springs Charter High Schools’ girl’s track team once again brought home a first place finish at the recent 7AAAAA Region track meet in Dalton.

This year, the team won the meet by an impressive 45 points.
The Spartans took first and second place in the 4 x100, 4 x 400, 400 meters, 300 hurdles and first place in 100 hurdles and long jump.

Winning the 4 x 100 relay were Tyra Williams, Jayda Drake-Howard, Kennedy Crawford and Saran Kouyeth. The 4 x400 winning relay team of Kennedy Crawford, Kennedi Weston-Shields, Tyra Williams and Jayda-Drake Howard continued North Springs’ first-place state record and second-place national ranking.
The Spartans will next compete at Sectionals this weekend with their ultimate goal of defending their 2015 State Title during the state finals May 6-7.
The girls' track team is coached by Physical Education Department Chair Patty Carroll and former Olympian gold medalist Antonio McKay.
