- On Aug. 10, police were called to the Bank of America at 6075 Roswell Road by employees who spotted a suspicious person trying to cash a check for $8,200. Staff also phoned the person on the check who told employees that they had not written a check to that person. The suspect was still in line when the police arrived and told them that she was with a man named Ryan who was in the parking lot in a silver car. Another patrol car spotted the car leaving and stopped it. He told officers he knew nothing of the check and was leaving to pick up his son. His driver’s license showed a suspension so he was jailed on that charge. The woman was charged with First Degree Forgery and she too was arrested.
- On Aug. 10, officers arrested a man at 415 Morgan Falls Road after he assaulted his wife by punching her in the face several times. A witness in the home said the man was intoxicated and his wife did not want him in the house. When she did let him in, he punched her and told her he was going to kill her as he knocked her down and stood over her with the knife. The first officer on the scene disarmed the suspect and secured him in handcuffs. He was later taken to jail charged with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats and Acts, and Battery.
- About 1:30 a.m., on Aug. 11, Chatcomm received a domestic violence call from a woman on Summit Springs Drive. Officers arrived at the residence to find the woman had a swollen and bloody lip. The male on the scene told officers that his wife got mad at him for posting nude photos of himself on Craigslist. He said his wife threw a cell phone at him. The wife agreed that they were arguing over the photos and he punched her in the face. The man was arrested.
