Riverwood Celebrity Golf Tournament Set For June 18

The first-ever tournament will benefit the Riverwood Raiders football program.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Riverwood International Charter School Football program is excited to announce its first-ever Celebrity Golf Tournament, which will be held on Monday, June 18 at the Smoke Rise Country Club in Stone Mountain.

The local featured celebrity golfer will be new Riverwood Raider Head Football Coach Robert Edwards, former running back for the University of Georgia, first round draft pick for the New England Patriots in 1998 and Miami Dolphins, with numerous NFL accolades.

Coach Edwards has asked some of his UGA professional football friends to join him in the fundraiser, including Boss Bailey, Champ Bailey, Ray Buchanan, Nick Chubb, Willy Clay, Terrell Davis, Warrick Dunn, Terrance Edwards, Randall Godfrey, David Greene, Keith Marshall, Sony Michal, Aaron Murray, Richard Seymour, DJ Shockley, Musa Smith, Takeo Spikes, Matt Stinchcomb, John Stinchcomb, Marcus Stroud, Hines Ward, and more.

The tournament is open to the public; those interested can sign up to play as an individual or as a foursome. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. At the conclusion of the tournament, awards will be given for the following: Putt Contest; Longest Drive; Closest to Pin on Par3; as well as first, second and third lowest scoring teams. All proceeds raised from the golf tournament will benefit the Riverwood Raiders football program.
