Riverwood Student Athletes Commit To College Programs
Marvin Kinsey and Mekhi Richardson will play football, and Duncan Jackson will play lacrosse at the collegiate level.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Three student athletes at Riverwood International Charter School have signed commitments to play sports at the collegiate level.

Marvin Kinsey has signed to play football on a full athletic scholarship as a running back for the Colorado State University Rams in Fort Collins, Co, an NCAA Division 1 school in the Mountain West Conference. An all-around athlete, Marvin excelled in Riverwood varsity wrestling and track, lettering in both.
He also earned the wrestling Most Valuable Wrestler award, won numerous track relays on state and regional levels, and served as track team captain during his senior year. Marvin has played junior varsity and varsity football all four years. Marvin is the son of Mellonee Justice and Marvin Kinsey, Sr.

Mekhi Richardson has been recruited to play football for the University of West Georgia Wolves in Carrollton. He will play both corner and wide receiver on a partial athletic scholarship for the NCAA Division II school in the Gulf South Conference.
Mekhi has played both junior varsity and varsity football and has lettered in football. He also runs track and has served as the track team captain in both junior and senior years. He is one of one of eight Raiders this year to be chosen for the post-season honor of being named to the All-Sub-Region team.
Outside of Riverwood, Mekhi has run on AAU track. A community-minded young man, he participated in the Young Men’s Service League, a non-profit organization that initiates and encourages young men and their mothers to pursue philanthropic involvement in their community. He has also served as a small group leader at his church, North Point Community Church.
Mekhi is the son of Terrance and Melanie Richardson.
Duncan Jackson has committed to play lacrosse for the Mountain Lions at Young Harris College, a Division II school in Young Harris. He has been admitted on an academic scholarship. Duncan has participated and lettered in cross country and lacrosse all four years. He has been named Attackman of the Year three times in JV and varsity lacrosse.
In the summers Duncan has played for the Atlanta Coyotes and Team Atlanta, elite travel lacrosse teams. He is also active in clubs and extracurricular activities both in and out of Riverwood, including membership in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
Outside of Riverwood, he participates in his church youth group at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, and has volunteered for Andee’s Army, a foundation that aims to identify and help families of children with non-traumatic, acquired brain injuries in need of resources.
