Rusty Paul Says City Center’s a Good Thing, Brown Adds 'It’s not Gonna be Easy'

During a candidate forum held last week, Sandy Springs mayoral candidates Rusty Paul and Bob Brown agreed that the planned City Center development should be a community draw.

Mayoral candidate Rusty Paul says the planned City Center development will be good for Sandy Springs and must be done right.

"Let's do it right but let's make that a place that people want to go," said Paul during a candidate forum at Huntcliff Clubhouse, last week. "If we make that just a collection of sterile offices, we've failed..."We really need to make that the heartbeat of Sandy Springs."

Bob Brown said he is not 100 percent sure that the City Center project at the former Target site is the best idea, but he supports it. It's going to take homeowners and the business community working together to create the village atmosphere that Roswell has, he said.

"Thats going to take a lot of work, a lot of hand holding to make everybody get along, because it's all private business. It's all private enterprise," Brown said. "It is basically going to be a good thing, but it's gonna to take a lot of work. It's not gonna to be that easy."
