Update: Sandy Spring Police Arrest Bank Robbery Suspect

Sandy Springs Police charged Michael Joseph Weaver, Thursday, with the robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1034 Hammond Drive.

Weaver and a female accomplice allegedly entered the bank shortly before 5 p.m, Wednesday, and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money.

The two fled the bank but were spotted minutes later at the Hilton Suites on Peachtree Dunwoody Road. According to Police, Weaver fled through a back door to the hotel but was chased down by an officer and surrendered without incident.

The female accomplice managed to flee the scene and remained at large, Thursday night.
